Since its founding in 1978, the Academy of Music of the Palacio de Minería has championed musical excellence across Mexico. While the Sinfónica de Minería is the most visible face of the institution, chamber music has been central from the very start.

Early on, many presenters who approached the Academy lacked venues large enough for a full orchestra. The solution was to create flexible chamber groups—duos, piano trios, string quartets, or pocket‑size orchestras—tailored to each space.

Today the Academy’s chamber concerts unfold year‑round, in public halls and private settings alike, offering a wide‑ranging repertoire.

Whatever the configuration, the mission remains the same: to deliver chamber music of the highest caliber and bring its intimate power to audiences throughout the country.
